About Us
Lissy has been independently baking since she was 6 years old and hasn't stopped, she still loves finding new tastes and new ways of reinvigorating old recipes for her baking. She's well known for her cakes where she lives, even being called "The Cake Lady" by the local community.
Lissy decided to set up a baking page on Facebook in 2013 but found all the names she could think of were already in use, so she offered 6 cupcakes to whoever could find her a good name for the page. After 161 entries came through in one day she chose Crumb's the Word® and her local baking project was born, and now she's ready for the rest of the UK to try some of Crumb's the Word's bakes.
Simon has been a graphic designer for 26 years and, as Lissy's husband, was the perfect person to design her logo and print work. Along the way he picked up some baking knowledge and now helps Lissy with all aspects of cake making from washing up to recipe creation.
